Fascinated
by photography since childhood,
when I would sneak into
my brothers' homemade darkroom
to make my
first attempts
at developing amongst small basins of acid and rolls of
glossy paper, I grew up turning the pages of our family photo
album and taking pictures of
whole generations of
kittens.

Affascinata dalla fotografia sin da bambina,
quando mi intrufolavo nella camera oscura casalinga dei miei
fratelli fotoamatori e mi cimentavo tra vaschette d’acido e
rulli di carta lucida, sono cresciuta sfogliando album di
famiglia e immortalando intere generazioni di gattini.

In 2005 I unwillingly
gave up
my SLR
film
camera
to enter
the
digital world,
its
huge potential
undeniable.

digitale, di cui sono non posso negare le immense
potenzialità. |

Whilst my favourite genre will always be travel and
landscape photography (above all my beloved Ligurian Sea), in
2009 I discovered Macro nature photography: a microscopic world
where
you can lose yourself and enjoy the smell of freshly cut grass,
waiting for the perfect moment, enveloped in the wonderful
colours of sunrises and sunsets, experiencing the wonder
of those tiny details which are invisible to the naked
eye.

Pur non tralasciando il mio genere prediletto, la fotografia di
viaggio e paesaggistica (in primis il mio amatissimo mar
Ligure), nel 2009 ho “scoperto” la macrofotografia
naturalistica: un micromondo in cui immergersi assaporando il
profumo dell'erba tagliata, l'attesa paziente del momento
propizio, i colori tenui alla luce dell'alba e del tramonto, lo
stupore per i dettagli minuziosi invisibili ad occhio nudo...

personal experience, a tool
of fundamental importance to approach nature
photography has been and still is via the the very wide
range of websites
and photographic forums, where the exchange of views and
mimicry are a great encouragement to learn and to
improve. So I want to show my appreciation and gratitude
by saying thanks to all my friends and photographers of
the

Uno strumento di fondamentale importanza per
avvicinarsi alla fotografia naturalistica è stato ed è
tuttora, nella mia esperienza personale, il vastissimo
panorama di siti web e di forum fotografici, in cui il
confronto e l'emulazione costituiscono un forte stimolo
per apprendere e migliorarsi: agli amici fotografi

What
taking pictures means to me is to be able to look
through my camera viewfinder and really see the beauty
surrounding us, normally unnoticed with a distracted and
quick glance, In my shots I hope I manage to capture
that beauty and to ensure I share it with those who
simply look at my pictures or share my passion. |
Fotografare, per me, significa poter scorgere, attraverso il
mirino della macchina fotografica, tutta la bellezza che sfugge
ad uno sguardo distratto e frettoloso... e spero di saper
catturare nei miei scatti quella stessa bellezza e poterla
trasmettere a chi semplicemente li osserva o a chi condivide

I have always used
Canon equipment and some Canon Ef and Tamron lenses. My current
equipment includes a Canon Eos 5D mk2 and Canon Eos 7D body, 17 to 300
mm lenses, a 180 mm macro lens, Benro tripod and ND-graduated
filters. |
